Self-Guided Stay & Walk Package – Terms & Conditions

These terms apply specifically to guests booking our Self-Guided Stay & Walk Package at The Riverside. They supplement our standard Terms & Conditions, which continue to apply to all bookings and services.


1. Nature of the Offer

  • This package is designed for guests seeking a self-guided walking experience while staying at The Riverside.
  • We provide accommodation and meal options; guests are responsible for planning and undertaking their own walks.
  • This is not a guided tour or an organised group itinerary. All walks are undertaken at the guest’s own discretion and risk.
  • Path & Pillow rooms are specially designated for walking guests and include walking-specific amenities, route information, and associated upgrades.

2. Pricing & Payments

  • The cost of this package only includes accommodation and meals as detailed at the time of booking.
  • No payment is required in advance; full payment is due at check-out, in accordance with our standard terms.
  • Guests are required to provide credit card details at the time of booking to secure their reservation.
  • Prices are per room and do not include any paid transport services or additional excursions.

3. Transport (Goodwill Service)

  • While complimentary transport may be available, it is offered as a goodwill service only and is not guaranteed.
  • Alternative transport arrangements remain the guest’s responsibility at all times.
  • This service is informal, subject to availability, and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

4. Walking & Guest Responsibilities

  • All walks are self-guided; The Riverside does not provide guided tours, structured itineraries, or supervision.
  • Guests are responsible for their own navigation, safety, and decision-making. Route suggestions are provided for reference only and do not constitute an organised activity.
  • Walking conditions may vary. Guests must check weather forecasts and ensure they have suitable equipment.
  • We accept no liability for injuries, lost property, or changes in walking conditions beyond our control.

5. Cancellations & Amendments

  • Our standard 7-day cancellation policy applies.
  • Guests cancelling within 7 days of arrival may be charged in accordance with our standard terms.
  • We strongly recommend guests arrange appropriate travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations or disruptions.

6. Weather & Unforeseen Disruptions

  • Weather conditions are beyond our control. No refunds or compensation will be issued for disruptions caused by adverse weather.

7. Liability & Assistance

  • While we are happy to assist guests where possible, we are not liable for third-party services (e.g., local transport, alternative accommodation, or emergency rescues).
  • In the event of unexpected difficulties, guests should contact relevant authorities or service providers directly.

8. General Provisions

  • These terms are designed to provide clarity and align with The Riverside’s standard Terms & Conditions.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
