Terms and conditions of booking
All accommodation is offered subject to availability at time of receipt of payment details or deposit and at the tariffs applicable.
Cancellations or curtailment made in excess of seven days [14 days with a booking agent] prior to the arrival day will not incur any charges. Cancellations or curtailment made within seven days [14 days with a booking agent], or non-arrival, will result in a full charge of the room(s) and refund any nights that are re-let. Cancellations can only be accepted by post in the form of recorded delivery or contacting Reception by email [email@example.com] and obtaining a cancellation reference. Any refunds can take up to 14 working days to receive.
Arrival is post 16:00 and we would ask if you would let us know of a particularly late arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 10:00 on day of departure.
We require credit or debit card details to secure your reservation. No payment is charged to the card until departure. Guests are required to make payment on check out and can use alternative methods. However, we reserve the right to act upon taking payment should charges occur in any cancellation or curtailment as outlined above. Alternatively, we can accept a cheque to the value of the first night’s stay. The balance of the account should be paid on departure. For group bookings, we reserve the right to charge a deposit when reserving. Any accounts outstanding beyond 7 days of departure will be referred to Daniels Silverman Limited and will be subject to a surcharge of 15% plus VAT to cover the collection costs incurred. This surcharge together with all other charges and legal fees incurred will be the responsibility of the customer and will be legally enforceable.
For bookings over the New Year break, we require a non-refundable non-transferable deposit payment of 50% of the total price of accommodation at the time of making your booking. This is to ensure that we have confirmed bookings rather than customer holding rooms seven days prior to the New Year break.
Should a reservation need to be cancelled due to external factors (e.g. cancelled flights, delayed trains), we advise customers to consult their travel insurance for reimbursement of any cancellation fees.
The proprietors reserve the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract should the conduct of any person who is party to that contract cause any detriment to the wellbeing of other guests or the staff.
We reserve the right to charge for any damages that occur during the stay; for example, red wine spillages or food grease stains on bedding.
The Riverside reserves the right to change the tariff charges at any time and will notify guests prior to their arrival. The Riverside has the right to change or withdraw special offers at any time. All special offers are subject to availability and fair usage. Additional terms and conditions for individual offers can be found on our website.
Please note that our four course breakfast is not served on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day and rates are room only. Please telephone Reception for details.
We are members of Q-Alert, who maintain a database of information about guests whose behaviour is unacceptable. We may share your information with members of the Q-Alert and this may result in our members refusing to accept bookings from you in the future.

Group booking terms (3+ rooms)
In addition to our standard terms and conditions, group bookings of three or more rooms are subject to requiring a deposit of 50% of the accommodation bill. This will need to be paid within seven days of reserving your rooms by either using the nominated credit/debit card that was given when making your booking or by forwarding a cheque payable to The Riverside within seven days of making your reservation. We are only able to take cheque payments when there is sufficient time between issuing the cheque and the arrival date. The 50% deposit is non refundable and non transferable. In cases of cancellation or curtailment, a full charge will be made of the remaining 50% of the room(s) cancelled or curtailed and any monies will be refunded should the room become re-let.
February Month of L♥ve
This offer is available when staying two nights in a double or twin bedded room arriving on a Friday in February 2019 based on two people sharing on our standard tariff. The evening menu includes a choice of starter, main course and dessert only. Any additional items outside of this are chargeable at the advertised or advised (if making modification) rate.
This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount being run for accommodation or the restaurant or when booking with a third party agent (e.g. booking.com).
Third party website and offers
There are a vast amount of search engines, travel websites and regional tourist sites that collect tariff information, special offers and literature from our website. We update our website regularly to ensure that we are communicating the correct information at the time of print. As third party websites are unable to syncronise with ours, we cannot be held responsible for any mis-information that may be collected from any third party site.
