Our COVID-19 measures
We are thrilled to be re-opening and are working hard to make sure that we are implementing measures to make sure that we are ready to keep you safe.
We will be re-opening our doors to accommodation guests on 4th July 2020 following the latest government guidance. While closed, we’ve reviewed all aspects of our operations, adapting existing procedures and finding new ways to do things to ensure keeping you and our staff safe is at the heart of what we do.
Our hygiene and cleanliness continue to be prioritised everywhere and we have changed a few of the things we do to protect everyone. Most importantly, if you are unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask you to stay at home. Furthermore, if you live within an area that has a local restriction, we ask you to stay at home too.
OPERATION AND GENERAL CHANGES
Among the changes, we have:
- been installing hand-sanitising stations at the entrances and exits to the building
- installed face screens at the bar
- re-designing our table layout in view of the government recommendations to maximise social distancing and reduce the volume of people in the building to ensure less social contacts
- introduced contracting tracing system as per the government recommendations
- having our staff undertake Covid training
- ensure our regular and deep cleaning schedules are up to date
- sourcing PPE for our serving staff
- making some improvements to our menu to keep our staffing bubbles as small as we can
Keeping you all safe is at the heart of what we do. Please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Other more specific measures include:
Our cleanliness has always been high but we will go even further by adding an additional stage to our guest room cleaning. We will fog all rooms before your arrival and communal areas daily.
Before you set out on your journey to visit us, we invite you to check in before you arrive so your welcome is swift and safe. We will offer a touch free temperature check so you know everyone in the accommodation is within the safe parameters.
During busier periods, we may notify guests that we will be offering two services at breakfast and dinner to give safe distancing and relaxed dining.
Our rooms will only have the essentials you need. Runners, decor cushions and similar items that are non-essential will be removed to ensure the room is set up to be a safe environment to enjoy. For short stays of 3 nights or less, we have suspended room cleans during your stay. Should you require anything, our staff are always on hand to help.
We kindly ask for all guests to vacate the property before 11am so that our housekeeping staff can work safely around the building.
Please follow any signage to ensure passing in corridors is safe and that our housekeeping team and guests are kept at a safe distance.
We will be re-opening our doors to dining on 10th July 2020 for Friday, Saturday and Sundays only. From 24th July 2020, we will re-open every day following our usual summer hours.
Our evening service will be reservation only and we encourage our guests to make their bookings at the time of booking their stay.
We will for the foreseeable future be plating our delicious Sunday roast in our kitchens and bringing it to your table. It is anticipated that this process will replace the Carvery for some time, where previously customers would have served themselves. We will still be cooking our four delicious meats (topside of beef, roast pork, roast turkey and roast gammon) with seven or more seasonal vegetables, homemade gravy and Yorkshires.
